If in the future, you have issues with the soil drying out too fast, line the inside of the cinder block square with plastic from lawn and leaf bags and of course make sure that there is drainage in the bottom. I do that in my porous terra cotta pots to keep them from drying out to fast. Good Luck. :-)

  3. Nicely documented! Great visuals. We did something very similar (but much simpler design) to create a raised vegetable garden with capped-off cinder blocks. We painted it all with masonry/stucco paint for a finished look. Cinder blocks, used Lego-style, have fantastic possibilities for many gardening projects. Again, nicely done.
